What colour floor pads should you use?

Did you know that you can seriously damage a floor by using the wrong colour floor pad?
To make sure you and your team know the correct colour floor pad to use with the correct machine, for the correct job, we’ve put together the following guide.
Floor pads are ideal for relatively level floors. If you have uneven floors, a brush may be more suitable.
As a general rule of thumb, the lighter the colour, the less abrasive a floor pad will be. For example White pads are very soft and ideal for polishing floors, whereas Black pads are much more abrasive and generally used for stripping or deep scrubbing tasks.
The White Victor Floor pad is the softest of the floorpads that we supply, this means it’s very delicate on floors. Designed for Burnishing and
polishing clean, dry floors, the Victor white polishing floor pad is perfect for producing a high gloss finish to floors.
Use dry or with a fine water mist to produce a high gloss finish.
The Victor white polishing pad is made from 100% recycled polyester fibres and
water-based resins.
For use with all Victor electric rotary machines, orbital scrubbers and automatic

We recommend using a white pad a high speeds between 300 – 2000 RPM
The Red Victor floor pad is slightly more abrasive than the white pad but less abrasive than the blue floor pad. The Red floor pad is a
great all rounded and ideal for spray cleaning tasks.
Because it is still fairly delicate on floors. Suitable for regular light cleaning and polishing, the red floor pad will remove light scuff marks and dirt while producing a high gloss shine.
The red Victor buffing pad is made of 100% recycled polyester fibres and waterbased
resins.
The red pad is ideal for rotary machines, but also often recommended for use by flooring manufacturers on a Scrubber Dryer as there is no risk of it damaging the floor or coating.
The red pad is ideal for use with slow or high speed floor cleaning machines between 100 – 2000 rpm
The Blue Victor Floor Pad is slightly more abrasive than a Red floor pad but not as abrasive as a green floor pad.
The Blue floor pad is very useful to have stock of, particular in areas which are prone to heavier scuff marks. Generally we advise that the Blue floor pad is used for periodic cleans rather than regular spray cleaning. The Blue floor pad is Ideal for school corridors or other high traffic areas which require a deeper periodic clean
Ideal for lower to mid range RPM machines (Unsuitable for burnishers or other high speed machines as they could damage the floor) 100 – 500 RPM
Ideal for wet scrubbing tasks, the Victor green scrubbing floor pad is the perfect
choice for deep cleaning or light stripping.
More abrasive than a Blue pad, but less abrasive than a Black pad, the Green Floor Pad can be used to “knock-back” polish before re-coating.
The Green floor pad by Victor is ideal for deep cleaning and removing tough marks – but it should always be used in conjunction with moisture. Using a Green pad dry could damage the machine and / or the floor.
Ideal for use with slower speed rotary floor machines at 100-200 rpm.
The green Victor scrubbing pad is made from polyester fibres along with synthetic
adhesives that will not be notably affected by water or cleaners used in standard
floor maintenance. The abrasives used in this product are synthetic.
The black floor pad is the most abrasive floor pad in the Victor range. This floor pad has been designed for stripping floors. This makes the Victor black stripping floor pad ideal for heavy duty wet stripping of emulsion polish. Use with water-based floor stripping solution to remove worn and soiled floor finishes or sealers .
The black stripping pad can also be used to clean heavily soiled hard surface floors,
such as concrete, when used with proper cleaning solutions.
The Black Victor stripping pad is made from polyester fibres along with synthetic
adhesives that will not be notably affected by water or cleaners used in standard
floor maintenance. The abrasives used in this product are synthetic. This product is
designed specifically for customers who want a more dense non woven pad.
Use with slow speed rotary floor machine at 100-200 rpm.
Melamine floor pads are a versatile cleaning tool that can be used on a rotary floor cleaning machine to achieve excellent results. Firstly, the operative couldn’t see the brush very easily. This mean it was difficult to see if there was a blockage or another problem with the brushes.
Secondly, edge to edge cleaning was impossible. Even if the unit touched the wall, the cleaning brush would be nowhere near the wall.
By moving the brushes to the front of the machine, the operative can easily see what they are doing and easily achieve edge to edge cleaning.

We source the majority of our components as locally as possible and manufacture them in the UK. This allows us to avoid some supply chain issues other suppliers may be facing.

Tub vacuum cleaners are notorious for toppling over. Users tend to pull them around by their cable, and inevitably tend to end upside down. This in turn causes the user to stop what they are doing to correct the vacuum.
To solve this problem, we designed the V9 to have 5 castor wheels rather than the industry standard 4 wheels. This gives it 360-degree manoeuvrability, opposed to the standard forward, backward, left, right. Following rigorous testing, we’ve found the five castor design significantly reduces the probability the Victor V9 will topple over during use.
If you’ve ever had a vacuum cleaner with a retractable cable you’ll know how problematic that can be. They get jammed very easily, and once broken the cable becomes very difficult to store.
The V9’s 5 castor design allows the V9 to spin 360, creating its own unique, zero maintenance cable winder. Simply remove the hose and spin the V9 on its 5 castors whilst guiding the cable around the specifically moulded motor cover. When fully wound, simply clip the plug into the handle.
It happens, with continuous use power cables can get damaged. Usually, tub vacuums would have to be sent off to a specialist for repair. To ensure minimal equipment downtime, the V9 features a plug and play power cable which can be replaced in seconds. Similar to a kettle lead the power cord pops out for replacement. But don’t worry, the cable restraint ensures that the cable can’t be pulled out during use, even if the operative pulls the vacuum around by the cable.

Whether you voted for it or not, Brexit is here, and we are already beginning to see the effects. As of 1st January 2021, the United Kingdom is longer part of the European Union. We will feel the ramifications for generations, good and bad. British businesses at large are grateful the government prevented the UK crashing out of Europe without a deal. Yet, even with an agreement, the long term outlook for UK trade is uncertain. But, Brexit does offer some new opportunities.
As the clock struck midnight on 31st December 2020, problems at the border began. Every media outlet has reported long delays and mountains of paperwork. Companies based in the EU are now charging consumers import taxes and VAT. Previously, British businesses had few problems buying goods from European companies as part of the EU VAT area. Across many industries, particularly specialists, British companies are facing big import charges.
Even with a deal, the long term outlook for UK trade is uncertain. Cross border supply chains, in particular, are slow and expensive in some cases, and broken in others. No longer tied to EU regulations in the same way, it may now also be easier for many industries to source materials in the UK.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding trading with the EU, Brexit will afford British businesses and consumers a fantastic opportunity to look locally for new trading partners.

There are also some ethical concerns about importing from the rest of the world. While worker standards within the EU, the UK, and the USA are high, every country cannot say the same. By choosing to buy products from local sellers, you know workers have been paid a fair wage and work in a safe environment. The manufacturing industry within the UK is subject to stringent regulation; worker safety is a top priority.
The present value of the pound further strengthens the case for buying British. While GBP is currently weak against the Euro, exporters can take advantage because British goods are cheaper and therefore more desirable for European businesses. However, this is bad news for importers, as goods from the EU are more expensive than previously. The best option, once again, is to look locally for suppliers. Buying British will prevent your business from being overcharged for consumables and other products from Europe and the rest of the world.
For some British businesses, buying a significant amount of materials or consumables from within the UK is not viable. However, most companies are able to search locally for at least some of their supplies to keep their businesses running.
The case for buying British is clear. Sourcing your goods from within the UK allows your business to be more sustainable and profitable while receiving a higher standard of customer service and faster delivery times.
